Functional responsibilities
Purpose and Scope of Assignment
Under the guidance of the Programme Lead, provide programme support to assist countries, cities, and agencies in developing and implementing policies and strategies to advance sustainable cooling across sectors like energy efficiency, urban environments, and cold chains.
Contribute to the team’s efforts to develop strategies that enable partners to mobilize investment, deploy technology, and utilize innovative business models, transforming the market for sustainable cooling solutions.
Contribute to the development tools and methods to assist stakeholders in delivering sustainable cooling solutions.
Participate and assist with the programmes capacity building and outreach initiatives to improve sustainable cooling awareness.
Support SEforALL’s advocacy and engagement in international forums to advance commitments, policy progress, and the mobilization of additional resources for sustainable cooling.
Support the organization and delivery of SEforALL convened events on sustainable cooling and related topics on energy efficiency, energy finance, green industrialization, etc., including by developing agendas and drafting preparatory materials.
In coordination with the SEforALL Intelligence Unit, support the development of knowledge products and data-driven stories, visual aids and graphics by providing research, data collection and analysis of sustainable cooling.
Support communications and engagement strategies for the Sustainable Cooling programme, leveraging the #ThisIsCool communication campaign and leverage other programme activities with Mission Efficiency, UN Energy, the UN Energy Compacts and SEforALL global campaigns and events to raise awareness of sustainable cooling solutions.
Work with other teams within SEforALL to support the development of knowledge and implementation work products that utilize the breadth of skills at SEforALL.
Support monitoring, evaluation and learning for the Sustainable Cooling programme and facilitate knowledge sharing across SEforALL teams.
Education/Experience/Language requirements
a.Education
A Bachelor’s degree preferably in international relations, economics, finance, sustainable development, international development, energy, engineering, or a closely related field.
An Advanced University Degree (Masters Degree or equivalent) preferably in international relations, economics, finance, sustainable development, international development, energy, engineering or a related field is an asset and may compensate for some years of experience.
b.Work Experience & Language Requirements
A minimum of 2 years of experience in supporting governments, development agencies, or intergovernmental organizations in energy efficiency or sustainable cooling is required.
Prior experience in supporting investment strategies, including investment de-risking and financing sustainable development projects for energy or cooling is desirable.
Prior experience developing knowledge products and using data evidence to support implementation of projects is an asset.
Experience working with international organizations, stakeholder partnerships and supporting governments or development agencies in-country is desirable.
c. Language
Fluency in English is required.
Working knowledge of another UN official language is an asset.
