Job Description

This position is contingent upon donor funding awarded to FHI 360 and will be based in Mozambique.


Role Description


The Team Leader will oversee the design and execution of all community engagement and girls’ empowerment activities under the Eu Sou Capaz program. The Team Leader will manage the project team, ensure compliance with technical standards, liaise with INJ and other stakeholders, and lead strategic planning, coordination, and quality assurance for project deliverables.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree or its International Equivalent in Management, Anthropology, Sociology, Psychology, Pedagogy, Public health or a related field.

Project Management (PM) Certification preferred.

Experience & Skills

10+ years of relevant experience in leading, designing and implementing programs focused on youth and/ or girl empowerment, community engagement, education or related areas, in Mozambique.

10+ years’ experience with project management principles and practices (including 5+ years of line management experience).

Deep knowledge of the institutional, social and cultural reality of Mozambique

Proficient with applicable rules, regulations, and policies associated with international development and non-governmental organizations (NGOs).

Demonstrated experience in multi-sector project management and implementation.

Demonstrated strategic planning, staff development and capacity building experience.

Demonstrated experience in leading and managing complex projects that are strategic in nature and national/international in scope.

Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English and Portuguese.

Experience operating in insecure environments.

Experience working in a non-governmental organization (NGO).

Typical Physical Demands

Typical office environment.

Ability to spend long hours looking at computer screen and doing repetitive work on a keyboard.

Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time. Ability to lift/move up to 5 lbs.

Technology to be Used

Personal Computer/Laptop, Microsoft applications (i.e., Office 365, SharePoint, Skype/Zoom/Teams), cell phone/mobile technology, and standard office equipment.

Travel Requirements

10% - 25%
