Team Leader. The Mitchell Group (TMG), an international development consulting firm based in Washington, DC, is currently seeking applications from qualified Team Leader candidates to propose for a Food for Peace study on Somali regional commodities, an activity for USAID in Ethiopia. To note, this opportunity is in the proposal stage and will be considered for the proposal stage and successful award of the contract.
The Team Leader will be responsible for the overall management and technical oversight of the activity. The Team Leader will be responsible for organizing the review, reviewing all relevant documentation, producing an inception report, assembling and coordinating Consumer Commodity Experts and Team Assistants, planning and oversight of data collection efforts, and ensuring the timeliness and quality of deliverables. S/he will be the primary point of contact between USAID and the review team and have responsibility for the submission of all deliverables. S/he will also oversee the Somali Regional Consumer Commodity Preferences Study and mainly responsible for coordination and collaboration with other points of contacts identified by USAID/Ethiopia. The team leader should be an expert in review of commodity management. Substantial humanitarian food assistance background and experience in Ethiopia are desirable.
Required Skills and Experience:
The Team Leader must have the technical and management skills to manage budget resources (dollars and staff) for the consumer commodity review, as well as assist and support the team with field logistics, e.g., coordinating with USAID, implementing partners and/or government ministry to setup initial appointments for interviews.
