Job Title: Technical Assistants (TAs) for Research, Development and Extension (RDE)
CHED- Higher Education Management Information System (HEMIS)
Reports to: HEMIS Technical Consultant (TC)
Job Summary:
The Technical Assistant/s that will be assigned to the Research Management Division (RMD) is responsible for providing technical support /assistance in the management and implementation of the various programs being implemented by the RMD; these include programs under the National Higher Education Research Agenda II (NHERA II). The Technical Assistant will provide assistance/ support in the implementation of the different RDE capacity building, mentoring, monitoring activities among others.
Essential Duties:
- Provide technical assistance in the development and management of the following :
a. Registry of faculty and researchers
b. Inventory of research laboratories/centers in higher education institutions (HEIs)
c. RAEMIS (Research and Extension Management Information System)
- Provide technical support to the RMD in the evaluation and monitoring of the RDE programs/projects under the CHED RDE Grants-in-Aid (GIA) program;
- Assist the RMD in the preparation of periodic technical reports/ accomplishment reports for the funded RDE programs.
- Work closely with the RMD and facilitate RDE capacity building activities (writeshops, conferences, fora, colloquium etc)
- Provide technical support in the crafting of RDE write-ups/reports/proceedings.
- Provide technical assistance in the development and conduct of mentoring activities / RDE capacity building activities for HEIs; and
Minimum Required Education & Experience
- With Masters’ Degree in Natural Science, Engineering and Social Science from a reputable higher education institution.
- At least four (4) years of relevant experience in RDE program/ project implementation in Higher Education Institutions.
- With relevant technical skills/experience in developing/crafting of training modules / workshops for research capacity building of HEIs.
- With knowledge on research methodologies, econometrics and statistical tools.
- At least four (4) years of relevant experience in program/project coordination/ collaboration with other institutions.
Skills & Abilities
- Highly organized and with the ability to multi-task and deliver outputs within specified timelines.
- Highly motivated and with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written, communication, organizational, coordination and analytical skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other similar programs.
Physical/Mental Demands
- Thinking, learning, and concentrating effectively and frequently communicating with other stakeholders inside and outside CHED.
- Ability to handle the stress associated in meeting frequent, multiple and tight deadlines,
- Ability to work in excess of 40 hours per week as workload and deadlines may require,
- Ability to have regular, reliable and predictable attendance.
- Has the capacity to translate the vision, mission goals of the Commission including its programs and projects into attraction information campaign / advocacy that can reach the higher education stakeholders and position the Philippine Higher Education in the Global Map
- Operating a computer and other office machinery
- Open to travel not only in Metro Manila but also in other regions of the country.
- With sense of urgency and value the importance of communication by providing feedback as part of initiative without being told.
