About the Position

Dexis is seeking a Technical Director to manage ongoing USAID-funded rule of law, anti-corruption and citizen security programs and develop new business with USAID and other donors in Latin America. Even though the primary geographic focus of the position is Latin America, it is anticipated that the Technical Director will work in other regions, too. This is a senior technical and leadership position in the company.

Responsibilities

The Technical Director will have the following responsibilities:

Business Development:

  • Facilitates further growth in the company’s practice areas and adjacent practice areas by providing leadership, proactively seeking new opportunities, and capitalizing on existing professional networks.
  • Serves as technical lead for relevant rule of law, anti-corruption, or citizen security proposals, including capture travel, technical proposal writing, proposal review, budget development, and recruiting.
  • Cultivates partnerships with other firms and local partners for rule of law, anti-corruption and citizen security work.
  • Represents Dexis at relevant industry forums, technical working groups, events, internal learning exchanges, and conferences.
  • Broadens the company’s professional network of development practitioners, recruitment sources, partners and client representatives.

Technical Leadership and Program Management:

  • Provides technical guidance, expertise, and support to ongoing programs.
  • Provides management and oversight of assigned projects, including MEL/CLA, review of deliverables, budget, and compliance with contract and USAID regulations, with at least annual management trips.
  • Supports divisional strategies, in compliance with organizational policies, priorities, and procedures and donor regulations.

General:

  • Demonstrates responsive customer service and maintains close working relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders or customers.
  • Ability to travel internationally up to 25% of the time.
Qualifications
  • Fluency in Spanish.
  • A minimum of ten years of experience in the implementation of rule of law, anti-corruption or citizen security programs.
  • Demonstrated work experience and professional networks in Latin America.
  • Demonstrated expertise in justice sector capacity building/institutional strengthening, administration of justice, access to justice, criminal justice, citizen security, legal aid, legal education, transparency and accountability, and/or strengthening oversight institutions.
  • Familiarity with USAID’s acquisition process, rules, and regulations.
  • Strong analytical and writing skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, team player, and ability to work in challenging and difficult environments.
  • Ability to mentor and coach staff in full range of proposal and project management tasks.
