As the Technical Director, you will contribute to Ecorys’ business potential by taking ownership of winning work; delivering our existing portfolio of tax and customs reform programmes; and leading business development in the area of tax and customs reform in the international market. Such business development activities include managing the production of high quality proposals, being pro-active in identifying potential project opportunities, leading teams in acquiring new work and keeping abreast of donor priorities. As a senior role, you will have the autonomy to create and implement marketing strategies through developing new contacts, managing client relationships and expanding networks in the tax and customs field. Additionally, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality consultancy projects whilst managing effectively timescales, budgets and client expectations. This involves leading projects, contributing technical expertise to various aspects of implementation and quality assurance. You will inspire the team by strengthening their knowledge and skills in tax and customs reform and manage efficiently the human resources for projects that you are leading.
The Ideal Person
You will have significant experience of delivering projects in the field of tax and customs, with posts held in reputable and relevant international organisations. You will be enthusiastic about business development and a proven track record of winning new consultancy work in the private sector. You will be confident with leading bids independently and the co-ordination of high-quality outputs. You will have strong project management experience, particularly with time management, leading, delegating and coaching others. You will be able to demonstrate technical expertise in tax and customs as well as project design, methodology, management approaches and delivery techniques. Excellent networking and interpersonal skills are essential as are outstanding report writing skills.
