Job Description

Global Communities is seeking Technical Experts for the anticipated $10-25 million USAID/West Africa Municipal WASH project. The WAM WASH program is a 5 year program which will work in Benin and Cote d’Ivoire to strengthen the ability of municipal governments and urban water and sanitation service providers to expand, improve, and sustain equitable water and sanitation services through enhanced financial viability, operational reliability and transparency. Working with national and regional institutions, the WAM WASH activity shall support city governments and utilities to professionalize services, fill critical needs, and reach unserved populations.

Responsibilities

* Provide specific technical expertise to the program
* Ensure deliverables are met on time and within budget
* Represent the program to key stakeholders within the community and government
* Coordinate program activities with partners
* Prepare monthly and quarterly reports

Qualifications

* At least five years of experience in implementing donor-funded programs in water and sanitation in one or more of the following areas:
+ WASH infrastructure
+ behavior change communication (BCC)
+ community-led total sanitation (CLTS)
+ WASH policy, governance or institutional capacity building
+ water utility reform/strengthening
+ private sector development and/or public/private partnerships

* Prior USAID experience preferred
* Demonstrated experience working cooperatively with a variety of local stakeholders, other projects and international agencies
* Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required; Master’s degree preferred
* Experience in West Africa required, experience working in Benin and/or Cote d’Ivoire preferred
* Full Professional Proficiency in spoken and written English and French is required
* Citizens of Benin and Cote d’Ivoire encouraged to apply
