The incumbent will work closely with Unit Heads, technical officers and Director’s Office to: Provide technical support to director HSP and subsequent follow up Support HSP director’s office by preparing technical materials and briefs related to IHR (2005) assessments, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. Prepare talking points, presentations, newsletters, web update and other information and communication materials and resources. Follow up and track documents, training materials, guidance for timely and quality delivery. Work with the regional offices and country offices to develop proposals, promote key partnerships, and coordinate the technical inputs and exchanges with key stakeholders. Support the director in responding to ADGO and DGO requests and briefs. Assist the Director, in the preparation of technical and partner reports including but not limited to dashboard reports, stakeholder follow up and outreach. Support, and plan, to document and publish lessons learnt, and progress made in implementation of the IHR and Health Security from countries, regions and partners, and support the departmental level work on these issues. Develop case studies, and provide support on developing and applying an integrated, comprehensive platform for information gathering, visualization, knowledge generation and information sharing on the IHR and health security, and link this with other WHO platforms. Support the technical work of units and teams, including the IHR benchmarks and online platform and library, gender mainstreaming in preparedness, and any other areas of work as deemed necessary by the Director. Perform all other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS EducationEssential: First level university degree in business, management, health related sciences, management, communications or related field.
Desirable: Health related studies or degree.
Essential: At least five years of experience in communication, advocacy and information management in public health or research institutes. Demonstrated exposure at the international level.
Desirable: Experience at an international level developing case studies and writing briefings, progress reports, lessons learned.
