Job Description

Integra LLC is recruiting to fill an exciting position in an anticipated regional project combating wildlife trafficking. Our Technology and Innovations Specialist will be responsible for supporting an interdisciplinary team working to build capacity and cooperation between conservation and law enforcement agencies and organizations, with the goal of stamping out the scourge of trafficking in illegal and endangered wildlife. The Specialist will work to:

  • Identify the constraints to successfully combating wildlife trafficking that can be best addressed using existing and emerging technologies, for example, new or improved forensic tools, predictive models, or sensors.
  • Work with the tech community in the SE Asia region to inform tech innovators of opportunities to support conservation
  • Help forge new partnerships between innovators, the private sector, and the conservation and law enforcement communities to bring technology to bear in support of these important conservation issues.
  • Work with tech innovators to bring promising new ideas to scale, including through business planning, securing finance, and partnering with end users
  • Help the conservation and law enforcement communities to understand how to deploy technology in support of their conservation mission
  • Support challenge competitions and other innovative means of incentivizing innovation for conservation.
  • Link regional efforts with global efforts to deploy technology in the service of conservation

The Specialist will be supported by a team of professionals in the field and by Integra’s global program.

The duration of the assignment is up to four years, and the estimated start date is September, 2016. The duty station is Bangkok, Thailand. Willingness and ability to travel within the Asia region is required. Fluency in English is required.

The successful candidate will have significant working experience in SE Asia, substantial experience in working in the tech sector to promote and scale innovation, and bachelor-level qualifications in a technology, business, or conservation related discipline. A relevant masters degree, proficiency in either Thai, Khmer, Vietnamese, Lao, or Chinese (Mandarin), and conservation experience are desirable qualifications.
