Objective of the project:

The overall objective of the project is to improve rail and logistics infrastructure as a part of an integrated transport network in Ghana, helping to improve services to customers and reduce the cost of transport especially in trade to and from the hinterland and the Northern regions of Ghana.

The purpose of this project is to prepare a multi-criteria evaluation report on the development potential for an integrated transport and logistics corridor including Boankra Inland Port and the Eastern Rail line from Tema to Kumasi.

Qualifications required:

Qualifications and skills

• Master degree in transport policy, planning, economics or a relevant, directly related discipline, or equivalent professional experience of 4 years (on top of the 10 years general professional experience required below).

General professional experiences

• 10 years general professional experience up to and including policy-level advisory roles, strategy management, programme management and multi-stakeholder consultations.

Specific professional experience

• At least one professional experience in transport planning/economics including collection and analysis of socio-economic data to formulate demand forecasts and evaluate development options
• Previous experience developing investment plans and scenarios for rail and logistics infrastructure would be highly beneficial
• Previous experience in ACP countries highly beneficial
