Traineeships

The trainees will be part of one of the below listed small and dedicated teams, and quickly progress under the guidance and support of colleagues and the line manager. They will be given specific tasks and work on topics of relevance to the Eureka Network and the Secretariat.

The trainees will be placed in the different Eureka teams and departments as needed and also dependent on their qualifications and interests:

Strategy, Data analysis and Communications team

Within this department, there are three distinct work areas: strategy/business development, data analysis and communications. Normally two trainees will be allocated to the team depending on the needs and the qualifications of the candidates.

To work within the Strategy and business development team, you can expect to be involved in policy analysis and briefings and the development of future programme and initiatives. The following qualifications and skills would be an advantage:

  • Education in business studies, political science or economics
  • Excellent drafting and presentation skills in English
  • Analytical and result oriented
  • Comprehension of the European Innovation funding landscape

To work within data analysis and impact assessment, you can expect to work closely with our Senior data analyst and coordinator on providing impact assessment of our funding programmes. The following qualifications and skills would be an advantage:

  • Education in quantitative methodology and data analysis
  • Experience with impact assessment
  • Excellent command of MS Excel
  • Experience with business intelligence applications or SQL would be an advantage

To work within the communications team, you can expect to be involved in social media campaigns, developing and maintaining our websites, SEO (Search Engine Optimisation), creating promotional videos and materials, designing presentations, document editing and much more. The following qualifications and skills would be an advantage:

  • Education in communication and media
  • Creative and adaptable to rapid change
  • Experience of using social media for business purposes would be an advantage
Common for all the trainee posts are the needs to demonstrate:
  • Service oriented attitude
  • Reliable and organised collaborator.
  • Sensitivity to cultural differences and ability act with diplomacy
  • Positive attitude, flexibility and highly motivated team-players, with the ability to also work independently and manage their own deadlines
  • Excellent users of Office 365 software, in particular with Excel and / or other data management tools
  • Excellent command of English, written and spoken, as English is the language of all communication at the Eureka Association
ELIGIBILITY

Traineeships are open to anyone legally entitled to work in Belgium and who has a level of higher education that corresponds to post-secondary education of at least three years attested by a diploma. In exceptional cases, the traineeship may be open to students in the middle of their studies still being enrolled as a student.
