We urgently need a Transmission & Substation Engineer for a 360MW Combined Cycle Power Plant Project in Bangladesh.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review of implementation program and construction schedule
- Review and approval of detailed designs, drawings and procedures related to all transmission & substation components, such as step-up transformers, 230 KV switchyard, interfacing with national grid, relocation of existing substation, etc
- Witnessing factory tests of major equipment and delivery control during manufacturing
- Supervision & control of construction works in respect of design, drawings and work schedule
- Supervision & control of substation (existing 132/33/11 kV) relocation work
- Submission of monthly and quarterly progress reports
- Assist in testing, commissioning and acceptance tests
- Fault level calculation and relay coordination
- Compilation of final test results as base line data for future reference
- Assist with preparation of operation & maintenance manuals
- Assist to prepare and implement maintenance schedules and procedures
- Assist in developing system for preservation of maintenance records
- Formulation and implementation of training program for O & M personnel
- Assist in preparation of as-built drawings and inventory records
- Assist in preparation of three (3) years spare parts list
- Assist to prepare LTSA
Key Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Masters of Science or at least Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
- Above 20 years of professional experience in the power sector
- Has at least 10 years practical experience in HV Transmission and Substation projects (230kV, 132kV, 11kv)
- Has completed transmission & substation part of at least one 360MW Combined Cycle Power Plant Project as Transmission and Substation Engineer,
- Has working experience in countries having similar geographic conditions like Bangladesh
- Has working experience in JICA, WB, ADB or other international donor funded projects
- Good interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively within a culturally diverse and multi-disciplinary environment
- Ability to write effectively in English to furnish reports
- Professional delivery and appearance to ensure SMEC image is maintained
- Courteous and business orientated manners when communicating with stakeholders to foster and promote good working relations
- Co-operative and flexible work style to work in a team environment
- Willingness to learn new skills and acquire new knowledge
- Ability to apply new knowledge
- Able to work under pressure
