On April 25, 2015, a 7.6 magnitude earthquake struck Nepal, followed by four aftershocks that were greater than magnitude 6.0. To date, there are over 8,790 casualties and 22,300 injuries, and affecting the lives of eight million people, almost one-third of the population of Nepal. Thirty-one of the country’s 75 districts have been affected, out of which 14 were declared ‘crisis-hit’; another 17 neighboring districts are partially affected.
CDM Smith prides itself on developing and retaining high quality staff. We are planning to support the long-term reconstruction and rehabilitation efforts in Nepal and is seeking qualified candidates with strong program management, disaster risk reduction (DRR) and response, construction management services, and relevant engineering skills to work for CDM Smith on a number of pending opportunities to support the reconstruction of Nepal in sectors such as health, education, transportation, public works, and other infrastructure in the earthquake affected districts. Potential long and short-term positions include the following:
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in relevant fields
• Professional licenses or international equivalent, as relevant to field of expertise, preferred
• At least 7 years professional experience on sector-specific, technically relevant projects
• Minimum of 10 years of overall professional experience preferred
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
• Experience on international projects required, prior experience in Nepal, South Asian countries, or Southeast Asia is an added advantage
