Video/Animation Specialist, E3 Evaluation and Analytics, Remote Position
MSI, in partnership with the Palladium Group, implements USAID’s E3 Analytics and Evaluation Project, which supports the design and implementation of rigorous evaluations for USAID’s Bureau for Economic Growth, Education and Environment (E3). Under this Project, the MSI team is conducting a multi-country study examining opportunities for USAID infrastructure investments to assist cities in addressing rapid urbanization and to support internally displaced persons (IDPs).
The research questions focus on understanding architecture engineering and construction (AEC) capacity in developing countries where USAID supports programs/projects. The studies are trying to improve understanding around the in-country strengths and weaknesses of construction codes and standards. For the IDP study, the team investigated the characteristics, needs, and challenges of IDPs. The research team has collected interview data from over 115 key stakeholders across in multiple cities across three countries (Kenya, Philippines, and Colombia).
As part of the deliverables to the client – USAID – the team is creating visually interesting products for easy uptake by USAID staff. These visual products, such as animation/videos/infographics/graphics, will represent key points of the studies supported by field data.
MSI is seeking a Video Editor and Animation Specialist (“Specialist” hereafter) to develop an informational, awareness-raising explainer video that will visualize the findings of the study. The Specialist will work with the project team to develop the concept of the video and will maintain frequent communication with the project team throughout the development process. The team envisions a modular approach to this activity, whereby the Specialist creates a short (1-2 minutes) video as the first module and/or builds off a narrative provided by the team. Based on the client’s views of the first module (video clip), the team will then work with the Specialist to create additional short videos/modules. The team envisions the videos having two or more the following features but not limited to: animation, motion graphics, video interviews and footage of respondents, embedding in interactive platforms (online, PDF, etc.), and other similar visual publishing tools. This position is expected to run from early June 2020 through August 31st, 2020.
