Job Description

Position Summary:

Primarily an administrative position, the warehouse assistant is ensures the smooth function of all warehouse activities under the supervision of the warehouse manager or supervisor.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the receiving and dispatching of commodities, including NFIs;
  • Track inventory of all supplies and maintain notes of any damaged commodities and NFIs by tallying imports, taking physical counts of the goods and preparing detailed documentation;
  • Follow proper documentation and safety procedures of all warehouse functions;
  • Supervise and oversee the organizing, stacking and storage of commodities by warehouse loaders and cleaners;
  • Ensure proper maintenance of warehouse equipment and goods;
  • Coordinate with transporters and suppliers for the dispatch and procurement of commodities and NFIs;
  • Perform all duties assigned by the warehouse manager or supervisor.

Candidate Qualification:

  • Diploma or related qualification in supply chain, warehouse management and inventory;
  • 3-5 years of experience working in warehouses and coordinating logistics;
  • Should have excellent organizational skills;
  • Good written and verbal communication skills;
  • Detail-oriented;
  • Ability to efficiently manage time and meet deadlines;
  • Ability to work under pressure;
  • Experience working with NGOs preferred, but not required;
