Works Procurement Specialist [Civil Engineering or Highway Experience]

Job Description

As part of the continuing technical assistance which Crown Agents provides we are seeking to identify suitably qualified works procurement specialists who would be interested in short term consultancy inputs.

In particular we are looking for individuals with the following experience:

• A BSc degree or equivalent in civil or highway engineering.
• Extensive experience in the planning, procurement, design, preparation of contract documents, construction supervision, maintenance and contract management of roads and bridges contracts.
• Substantial experience of procurement of works and service contracts for a public sector organisation funded by governments and by multilateral and bilateral development partners.
• Extensive experience in the evaluation of bids for roads and bridge works and services and in the evaluation of prequalification documents submitted by contractors and Expressions of Interest submitted by consultants.
• An understanding of production rates for items of work for major road and bridge constructions would be an advantage, as would experience in Uganda or East Africa.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Inputs will be undertaken at our head office in Sutton, Surrey so living within daily or weekly commuting distance will be an advantage but not essential.
