    The European Union will provide some EUR600 million (USD800 million) to six former Soviet states to promote energy and economic links as well as democratic reforms. Belarus, Moldova, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Ukraine will benefit from the funding, according to

    . Of the sum, some EUR250 million has been previously committed. The bloc has yet to give details about how the funding will be distributed and what measures will be used to evaluate reforms in the countries.
