The Asian Development Bank (ADB) announced plans to apportion an additional amount of $18 million to $20 million for a project on early childhood development. The organization?s Baku office head Matthew Westfall confirmed that the credit is set to be approved by 2006 and is being studied by the government of Azerbaijan. The project will cover the development of kindergartens students and teachers and repair and construction of 240 kindergartens in 12 pilot regions in the country. So far, Azerbaijan?s Ministry of Education has been allocated $600,000 by ADB for the development of the project.
