Pakistan will shift to energy-efficient power sources from fossil fuels through a
financing from the Asian Development Bank. The sum forms part of the $1.18 billion, multitranche financing facility for short- to medium-term energy efficiency projects such as the use of fluorescent lamps. The bank is also lending another
to support Pakistan's policy reforms aimed at bolstering inclusive growth and social services. The sum will help enhance public financial management, the civil service, public pension system, and public-private partnerships for infrastructure and social services in the Punjab province.
