ADB director in Nepal for annual visit

As part of the Asian Development Bank’s Country Programming Mission (CPM), South Asia Department Deputy Director General Sultan Hafeez Rahman arrived in Kathmandu to personally commend the Nepalese government’s successful democratic reforms. The visit aims to examine the political, economic, and social developments in the country, discuss government priorities for the next three years, particularly its programs for reconstruction and rehabilitation, and identify potential cofinancing opportunities for the ADB. Also on the agenda are the scope of sub-regional cooperation among member nations of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) and the operational approach of the bank with non-governmental organizations and civil society.
