The African Development Bank has approved a USD40 million equity investment in the African Agriculture Fund.
The USD300 million facility is targeting African agribusiness companies involved in food production, processing, packaging, cold storage, distribution and marketing.
The fund offers capital and advisory services. It has a technical assistance facility of USD14 million that will provide business development and business linkages services to large firms and small and medium-sized enterprises. It was set up in 2008 to respond to the food crisis.
