The African Development Bank unveiled during its annual meetings in Portugal an interactive map that shows the exact locations of its ongoing projects in Tanzania, Morocco and Cameroon.
The map was developed through joint efforts of the bank and AidData, a global partnership focused on tracking development finance, to geocode AfDB initiatives in order to help the bank evaluate its progress and plan future projects as well as allow others to access, evaluate and give feedback on AfDB aid information.
“The map makes it easy to see where the Bank is working,” Simon Mizrahi, manager of AfDB’s Results and Quality Assurance Department, said in a statement. “Not just in which countries, but in which regions or towns. Through this partnership, we’ve been able to efficiently translate information which existed primarily in long documents into a simple visual tool for decision makers and the public at large to quickly understand what we do, and where.”
