CARE International and Christian Care suspended their food distribution programs in the Gutu district of Masvingon under threats from a Zanu-PF official, the Zimbabwe Times reports. An aid official who requested anonymity said a senior Zanu-PF officer told them to surrender the food they are distributing to Zanu-PF political leaders in the district but they declined to comply. The two agencies explained that their distribution will remain suspended while they negotiate with the Zanu-PF party.
