The IMF wants Argentina’s statistics institute to clarify how the country’s inflation figures have been measured and whether the data meets international standards, El Cronista said. A Jan. 15 letter told Indec, as the statistics institute is known, that Argentina’s economic data may be excluded from the IMF’s annual World Economic Outlook report if the statistics don’t meet standards established by the United Nations, El Cronista said, citing a copy of the letter. IMF spokesman Andreas Adriano said the organization doesn’t comment on communication with countries. (Bloomberg)
