David Arnold is the new president of the Asia Foundation. He will take over the reins of the San Francisco-based foundation from Douglas Bereuter, whose six-year term ends on Sept. 30, 2010.
Arnold, who is currently the president at the American University in Cairo, will begin his term in January 2011.

Arnold was a former representative of the Ford Foundation to Nepal, Sri Lanka and India. He also served as interim president and executive vice president of the New York-based Institute of International Education.
