At WHA, experts join Devex to discuss the future of global health

Devex CheckUp @ WHA 76 highlighted lessons from the COVID-19 response, explored what preparations are underway for the next global health threat, and featured innovations in medical oxygen, assistive technology, mental health, and more.

    By Kate Warren // 01 June 2023

While the official meetings of the 76th World Health Assembly took place in the Palais des Nations, the real action in Geneva was found at many of the side events dotting the city where leaders could speak more frankly and hold sidebar conversations on the big issues facing the global health community.

At the buzzing Intercontinental Hotel you could find United Nations agency heads and health ministers confabbing in the lobby along with global health professionals running into old friends, celebrating face-to-face interactions after years of Zoom meetings. You could also find our reporting team leading a two-day news summit, Devex CheckUp @ WHA 76, interviewing the experts and decision-makers key to global health progress.

Named for CheckUp, Devex’s weekly global health newsletter, the event highlighted lessons from the COVID-19 response, explored what preparations are underway for the next global health threat, and featured innovations in medical oxygen, assistive technology, mental health, and more.
