Solomon Islands Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare affirmed that Honiara?s strained relations with Canberra have not affected Australian aid to the country. Australia, according to Sogavare, has sent no notification telling the island nation that it plans to suspend funding. Solomon Islands High Commissioner to Australia Victor Ngele is hoping that the two governments will hold more consultation, adding that the people in the Pacific country are pleased with the work of the Australian-led Regional Assistance Mission to Solomon Islands.
