Swathi Balasubramanian

Swathi Balasubramanian is a senior program officer at IREX in Washington, D.C. and oversees the U.S. Department of State-funded Justice and Dignity for the Middle East and North Africa Initiative — a rapid response mechanism designed to address immediate, rights-focused needs in the region. Swathi helped build the capacity of the BOTA Foundation based in Kazakhstan and currently supports IREX’s work in promoting the use recovered assets for development. She has been working in the democracy, governance, and media division since 2007 and chairs IREX’s conflict community of practice.
