Rebecca Petras is currently supporting Red T, a nonprofit that advocates for interpreters and translators working in war and conflict areas around the world. Red T’s focus at the moment is the safety of the thousands of linguists who worked in Afghanistan over the past 20 years. But the threat to linguists is very real around the world — from Venezuela to Ethiopia to Belarus.
