Dr. Erfan Ali is the Regional Representative of UN-Habitat’s Regional Office for the Arab States since May 2019. Prior to that, he served as the Senior Human Settlements Officer and Deputy Regional Director for the Regional Office for the Arab States. From 2013 to 2018, he was the Head of UN-Habitat Iraq Country Programme.
UN-Habitat’s Erfan Ali considers the role of the New Urban Agenda in dealing with current and emerging problems including surging populations, climate crisis, growing inequalities, and conflicts.
