Shashank Deshpande is the chairman of the board of managing directors at Boehringer Ingelheim and is responsible for the Human Pharma Business Unit. Throughout his whole career, he has been passionate about improving life for patients. He leads a global team of approximately 54,500 people who are pioneering breakthrough treatments to transform the lives of humans and animals. A German and US national, he holds a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Hamburg, Germany.
