Rajendra Kumar Pachauri
R K Pachauri has chaired the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change since 2002. Under his tenure, IPCC was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007 for its work on climate change issues. Pachauri also serves as director of Yale University’s Climate and Energy Institute, and as director general of The Energy and Resources Institute, which launched the “Lighting a Billion Lives” initiative in 2005 to expand the use of solar power in rural India.
