Susan Shepherd is a general pediatrician who spent the first part of her career in Montana both in private practice and with the Community Health Center in Butte. In 2003, she began taking assignments as a field doctor with Médecins sans Frontières/Doctors without Borders focusing her humanitarian field-work on caring for malnourished children. In addition to field work, Dr. Shepherd worked for MSF’s Access Campaign to Essential Medicines and consulted for the World Food Program.
