Dr. Alan Nicol is the strategic program leader on promoting sustainable growth at the International Water Management Institute. A political scientist by training, Dr. Nicol has more than 20 years of experience in research, policy advice, consulting, and program development across Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.

At Devex, I am responsible for expanding Devex membership and other services around the world. I work closely with donor agencies, NGOs and companies to ensure Devex is effectively aiding in their own international development missions. Prior to helping start Devex, I was with International Business-Government Counsellors (IBC), where I was Deputy Director of the Washington International Business Council.

Trained as an infectious diseases physician, Alan Tennenberg brings over 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, clinical medicine, public health, and academia to the position of chief medical officer of Johnson & Johnson Global Public Health.

Dr. Alastair Reed is acting director of ICCT. Prior to this he was research coordinator and a research fellow at ICCT, joining ICCT and Leiden University’s Institute of Security and Global Affairs in 2014. Previously, he was an assistant professor at Utrecht University. Reed’s main areas of interest are terrorism and insurgency, conflict analysis, conflict resolution, military and political strategy, and international relations, in particular with a regional focus on South Asia and Southeast Asia.

Alaysa Escandor is a former development analyst based in Manila, Philippines. She covered a wide range of development and humanitarian aid issues since. She was a fellow at the Konrad Adenauer Asian Center for Journalism. Her interests include humanitarian and development aid, health and gender.

Al-Bari B. Macalawan earned his master's degree in political economy from the University of Asia and the Pacific. As a member AFS Intercultural Programs and Young Moro Professionals Network, he is active in youth advocacy and programs. He was part of the LEAD ASEAN Summit 2013 in Manila, the ASEAN Youth Forum 2014 in Yangon, Myanmar, and the YSEALI United For Peace 2015.

Alberta Guerra is a senior policy analyst at ActionAid USA and an expert in global food policies, focusing on right to food, land rights, agroecology, and global governance. She also serves as ActionAid’s liaison with the Committee on World Food Security, IFAD, and FAO in Rome.

Alberto Bouroncle is vice president of public affairs at IARD and is in charge of the development of relationships and alliances with a variety of stakeholders and capacity building, with special interest in Latin America and the Caribbean. He has been involved in substance use research, policy development, and program implementation since 2000. Prior to joining IARD, he worked for LTG Associates, in a variety of projects, including the evaluation of a substance abuse and mental health services administration project to provide substance abuse treatment for the latino community in the Washington D.C. area.

Alberto Lizzi works for the United Nations Development Programme where he promotes evidence-based decision making in support of development effectiveness.

Alberto Velazquez is Central America regional director of Communities of Faith Organizing for Action, which is powered by grassroots leadership teams in 160 local communities in El Salvador, Honduras, and Guatemala.
