Dr. Alok Ranjan

Dr. Alok Ranjan is the director of programs and investments at The Power of Nutrition. He has around two decades of experience across various public health and nutrition programs. He has previously worked at the Gates Foundation, UNICEF, and WHO. He is a medical doctor with a post-graduate degree in community medicine.
Dr. Amel Karboul

Dr. Amel Karboul

Amel Karboul is CEO at the Education Outcomes Fund and commissioner at the Education Commission. Karboul has held leadership roles at Mercedes-Benz, DaimlerChrysler; senior consultant roles at the Boston Consulting Group and Beratergruppe Neuwaldegg; and the secretary-general position at the Maghreb Economic Forum. She was, until February 2015, the tourism minister in the Tunisian transition government that was appointed after the successful “quartet” negotiations. She was nominated as one of the 10 leading young African politicians. “Coffin Corner,” her book, outlines a new leadership culture suited to the complexity and dynamics of the 21st century.
Dr. Anand Date

Dr. Anand Date

Dr. Anand Date is the global TB branch chief for the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Dr. Date has 15 years of experience with CDC’s global TB and TB/HIV portfolio. He has contributed to recommendations, strategies, and implementation guidance for TB and TB/HIV. Dr. Date is a member of several expert panels for the World Health Organization's tuberculosis guidelines and policies. He co-led operational research studies to improve clinical outcomes of people with TB disease, including people living with HIV, children, and health care workers. Dr. Date is a physician by training and completed his medical and preventive medicine residency at Mumbai University in India.
Dr. André Tchouatieu

Dr. André Tchouatieu

Dr. André Tchouatieu is a physician with specialized training in malaria, health economics, and health systems. Currently he is the director of access and product management at Medicines for Malaria Venture, a product development partnership based in Geneva, where he leads the chemoprevention strategy. In his work, he collaborates with international and endemic-country partners to increase access to preventive malaria medicines.
Dr. Anita Kaluba

Dr. Anita Kaluba

Dr. Anita Kaluba is a medical doctor and the in-country coordinator for Zambia at the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids. Zambian grantees recently undertook a “Tiny Targets” study with the aim of gathering local evidence to support their advocacy campaign for a strong tobacco control law and counter the tobacco industry. Her role was to oversee, coordinate, and mobilize technical resources for the grantees undertaking the study.

Dr. Anita Zaidi

Dr. Anita Zaidi is the president of the Gender Equality Division at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. In this role, Anita oversees the foundation’s efforts to achieve gender equality by integrating gender across the foundation’s global work and investing in women’s economic empowerment, women’s leadership, and removing the barriers for women and girls to thrive. Previously, Zaidi was the department chair of Pediatrics and Child Health at the Aga Khan University in Karachi, Pakistan, where she worked to reduce child mortality through the prevention and treatment of illness.

Dr. Ann Aerts has been head of the Novartis Foundation since January 2013. The foundation is an organization committed to having a transformational impact on the health of low-income populations. Ann holds a degree in medicine and a master's in public health from the University of Leuven, Belgium, and a degree in tropical medicine from the Institute of Tropical Medicine in Antwerp, Belgium. In 2014, Ann was nominated by PharmaVOICE as one of the 100 Most Inspiring People in the life science industry.
Dr. Anthony Woolf

Dr. Anthony Woolf

Dr. Anthony Woolf is a rheumatology professor at the Institute of Health Care Research, Peninsula College of Medicine and Dentistry at the Universities of Exeter and Plymouth. He serves on the executive committee of the Global Alliance for Musculoskeletal Health and is part of the Global Alliance for Patient Access' board. He is a member of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Evidence Based Healthcare in Musculoskeletal Disorders, Lund University Hospital. He qualified from the London Hospital Medical College and trained at Hammersmith Hospital, Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases, and Bristol Royal Infirmary.
