Dr. Emmanuel Luyirika

Dr. Emmanuel Luyirika is the executive director of the African Palliative Care Association. He is also a board member of the World Hospice Palliative Care Alliance, a member and co-chair of WHO Technical Ad-hoc Committee on palliative care, a commissioner on the Lancet Commission on Global Access to Palliative Care and Pain Control, and vice-chair of the Council of the Institute of Hospice and Palliative Care in Africa. He has published extensively on palliative care and HIV.

Dr. Endie Waziri

Dr. Endie Waziri is the national coordinator of the National Stop Transmission of Polio program at the African Field Epidemiology Network office in Nigeria, where she provides both technical and administrative oversight of the program with over 300 staffers. She is also the chairperson of the Gavi CSO steering committee.

Dr. Eric Goosby is a professor of medicine at the UCSF School of Medicine. His career spans being the founding director of the Ryan White CARE Act, director of the White House's Office of National AIDS Policy, U.S. global AIDS coordinator, special envoy on tuberculosis, and member of the Biden-Harris Transition COVID-19 Advisory Board.
Dr. Fariz Yahya

Dr. Fariz Yahya

Dr. Fariz Yahya holds the position of consultant rheumatologist at Universiti Malaya Medical Centre and is an associate professor at Universiti Malaya, Kuala Lumpur. He obtained his medical degree from Queen’s University Belfast and subsequently completed a clinical fellowship at the Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases in Bath, United Kingdom. He has chaired the Malaysia-Singapore Spondyloarthritis Congress 2023, previously served as treasurer of the Malaysian Society of Rheumatology, and currently occupies the role of president of Arthritis Foundation Malaysia. Additionally, he is actively engaged in clinical rheumatology research.

Professor Fausto J. Pinto, M.D., Ph.D., is dean of the faculty of medicine at the University of Lisbon. He is also a full professor of cardiology and head of the cardiology, heart, and vascular department at Lisbon School of Medicine. He is the president of the World Heart Federation.
Dr. Fouzia Shafique

Dr. Fouzia Shafique

Dr. Fouzia Shafique is the associate director for health at UNICEF headquarters and focuses on maternal, newborn, child, and adolescent health, primary health care/health system strengthening, and digital health and information systems. She is also the global lead for UNICEF’s work on community health.
Dr. Frida Njogu-Ndongwe

Dr. Frida Njogu-Ndongwe

Dr. Frida Njogu-Ndongwe is a global health and development practitioner, currently the regional director for East and southern Africa at IDinsight. She was previously director of programs at the Center for Health Solutions–Kenya and a consultant at McKinsey & Company’s Africa Delivery Hub. She also served as CEO and co-founder of Afyakit Technologies.

Dr. Gabriella Hyman is a medical officer and Ph.D. candidate at the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa, currently undertaking the Paul Farmer Global Surgery Fellowship at the Program in Global Surgery and Social Change (PGSSC) at Harvard Medical School.
Dr. George Uzonwanne

Dr. George Uzonwanne

Dr. George Uzonwanne is the director of education, health, and social services at the Niger Delta Development Commission in Nigeria. He is a senior public health policy development expert, with experience in disease control, public policy development, and implementation. Dr. Uzonwanne holds a doctor of medicine degree; a master’s in engineering and public policy degree; and an MBA. He has many years of experience in nonprofit management, health care service provision, and grant management, and remains passionate about improving the health status of people, especially those in under-served rural, hard-to-reach communities.
Dr. Goran Zangana

Dr. Goran Zangana

Dr. Goran Zangana is a member of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh and is currently an acting consultant in acute medicine at NHS Scotland. He is a member of the board of directors of Health Systems Global where he is the co-chair of the advocacy working group. He is NHS Lothian lead for international medical graduates and is NHS Scotland Global Citizenship champion. Goran Zangana is originally from Kurdistan. He undertook his initial medical training and practice in Iraq.
