Geetanjali Misra

Geetanjali Misra is the co-founder and executive director of CREA. Geeta has worked at the activist, grant-making, and policy levels on issues of sexuality, reproductive health, gender, human rights, and violence against women. Before joining CREA, she was program officer sexuality and reproductive health for the Ford Foundation in New Delhi and supported nongovernmental organizations in India, Nepal, and Sri Lanka working on sexual and reproductive health and rights. She also co-founded SAKHI for South Asian Women in New York in 1989, a nonprofit organisation in New York, committed to ending violence against women of South Asian origin.

The campaign is focused on shifting demand away from socially and environmentally irresponsible palm oil, creating incentives for the production of responsible palm oil and transforming global supply chains.

She has a bachelor's degree in International Studies from Miriam College and a master's degree in Political Economy from the University of Asia and the Pacific.

Geoff Tansey

Geoff Tansey works for fair, healthy and sustainable food systems as an independent writer and consultant (www.tansey.org.uk). He is a member and a trustee of The Food Ethics Council, an honorary research fellow at the University of Bradford’s Department of Peace Studies and an honorary visiting fellow at the University of Newcastle’s Centre for Rural Economy. He is currently developing www.foodsystemsacademy.org.uk as an open education resource.

He holds a Master of Arts in Human Rights from University College London.
