Hugh Morris is the managing director of The Development Initiative. He enjoyed a 10-year career in the British Army, serving as an officer with The Light Infantry regiment. He was involved in several operational tours, before retiring in 1995 and entering the demining business. He spent 10 years with Minetech, as operations director for more than half his time there, and then went on establish TDI.

Dr. Huma Abbasi is the general manager of global health and medical at Chevron and the company’s new global health champion.
Humberto Laudares

Humberto Laudares

Humberto Laudares serves as innovative financing officer for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. He has worked at the World Bank and at the government of the state of Sao Paulo, Brazil, as director of strategic investments. Humberto is a doctoral candidate in economics at the Graduate Institute in Geneva, Switzerland, and holds a master’s in economic policy from Columbia University, New York.

Hunter Biden serves as chairman of the board for World Food Program USA, a nonprofit based in Washington, D.C., which works to solve global hunger in partnership with the United Nations World Food Program through fundraising, advocacy and education in the United States.

Husna Haq

Husna is a Devex correspondent based in the greater New York city area. She covers national news, politics, and publishing as a correspondent for the Christian Science Monitor, and travel news for the BBC. She worked for National Geographic.com from 2006 to 2008, where she helped develop the organizations digital presence.
Iacopo Viciani

Iacopo Viciani

Iacopo is an advocacy and policy analyst with experience in aid financing, effectiveness and emergencies. He currently serves as a policy analyst on aid effectiveness and accountability for ActionAid Italy. As part of his work for the NGO, he was seconded to the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs international cooperation department in 2009.
Iain Barton

Iain Barton

Dr. Iain Barton is an expert in innovating, incubating, and scaling best practice functions in global health. Barton received his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Cape Town and is a medical doctor with 10 years of clinical practice, 25 years in African health care supply chain management, and 2 years in health care systems advisory. Acknowledged as a global health pioneer, he specializes in health care systems solution design, implementation, and market-shaping start-ups. Barton has deep and broad professional experience in the commercial and public health sectors.
Ian Deshmukh

Ian Deshmukh

Ian Deshmukh is an ecologist and a senior associate at Tetra Tech, for which he has worked since 1985 (then ARD Inc.). For much of that time, he has resided in Africa on field projects. Prior to that he was a lecturer at the University of Nairobi, and a visiting scholar at Oxford University and the University of California at Berkeley.

Ian Mitchell is a senior policy fellow at the Center for Global Development in Europe. He is also a research associate at the Institute for Fiscal Studies. As of late, Mitchell has undertaken research on the economic impact of Brexit, the value of the EU Single Market, and the impact of Brexit on development in relation to trade and aid.
Ian Thomas

Ian Thomas

Ian Thomas is the head of arts research and insights at the British Council, leading the council’s global arts evidence, insights, and learning work across its global arts programs. A previous international visiting fellow at the Centre for Public Diplomacy at the University of Southern California, he has worked in previous roles at Arts Council England and Telford and Wrekin Council. Thomas is also a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
