Previously, Ibrahim led UNICEF’s pathfinding initiative supporting 10 governments in leveraging open software and open data to strengthen public services. He also led several tech startup accelerators and funds mentoring and investing in cutting-edge commercial and social solutions.

Ibrahim Thiaw

Ibrahim Thiaw is the under-secretary-general and executive secretary of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification, with over 40 years of experience in sustainable development, environmental governance, and natural resource management. Previously, he served as special adviser to the secretary-general for the Sahel, where he played a key role in recalibrating the U.N. Integrated Strategy for the Sahel and developing the U.N. Support Plan for the Sahel. As assistant secretary-general and deputy executive director at the U.N. Environment Programme, Thiaw was instrumental in shaping strategic visions, strengthening governmental collaborations, and directing environmental policy implementation.

Ibrahima Cheikh Diong

Ibrahima Cheikh Diong, a seasoned development leader and global policy strategist, is the inaugural executive director of the Fund for Responding to Loss and Damage, or FRLD. Prior to this appointment, Diong served as United Nations assistant secretary-general and director-general of the African Risk Capacity, ARC, Group, a specialized agency of the African Union, where he spearheaded institutional reforms and scaled ARC’s work in disaster risk financing across Africa.

Ibrahima Coulibaly is president of the Réseau des organisations paysannes et des producteurs agricoles de l’Afrique de l’Ouest (Network of Farmers’ Organisations and Agricultural Producers of West Africa). He is an agricultural producer in Mali and has been involved in farmers’ movements at all levels for nearly 30 years. He is also the president and founder of the National Producers’ Organisation of Mali.
