Jake Barker works on governance, conflict and political reform in Southeast Asia. He is a former diplomat, working in Myanmar and across the region. He previously provided policy and parliamentary expertise at the U.K. House of Commons, think tanks, and civil society organizations.
Jake Harriman

Jake Harriman

Jake Harriman graduated with distinction from the U.S. Naval Academy and served seven and a half years as an infantry and special operations platoon commander in the Marine Corps. He led four operational deployments and was awarded the Bronze Star for actions in combat. Jake’s experiences convinced him that the “War on Terror” wouldn’t be won on the battlefield alone; the contributing causes of terrorism — specifically extreme poverty — must also be eradicated. Jake left the military and enrolled at the Stanford Graduate School of Business to found Nuru International.

James Alexander is the head of the finance and economic development initiative at C40. In this role, James is responsible for the management and strategic development of the C40 networks on green growth and sustainable infrastructure finance. Prior to joining C40, James served as senior policy manager and head of the London office for the Scottish Council for Development and Industry, where he advised the Scottish government and other key stakeholders on the actions and priorities needed to create sustainable economic prosperity for Scotland.
