Jason Clay, Ph.D., is senior vice president of markets and food and executive director of the Markets Institute at World Wildlife Fund in the U.S., or WWF-US. Before joining WWF in 1999, Clay taught at Harvard and Yale, worked at the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and spent more than 25 years working with human rights and environmental organizations.

Jason Gardner is managing scientific director at CMC CONNECT, a leading global medical communications agency and a division of McCann Health Medical Communications. Jason holds a Ph.D. in biological sciences from the University of Manchester, U.K. He initiated his career in medical affairs, clinical and scientific communication roles within GlaxoSmithKline and Merck Serono before transitioning to the agency environment, where he provides scientific leadership within CMC CONNECT.

Afzal is an experienced climate change adaptation and resilience specialist with demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing climate change-inclusive actions. She has a keen understanding of the critical adaptation and resilience priorities needed to manage climate change in the global south.

Javier Díaz Fajardo has 25 years of experience in Latin American financial markets. He has served as CEO of Bancoldex, Colombia's business development bank, since 2019. During this time, he has led Bancoldex’s growth to $3 billion in total assets and has transformed the bank’s business model from a second-tier lender of commercial banks to a direct lender of Colombian enterprises with an emphasis on innovation and digital transformation.

Javier Aliaga  Lordemann

Javier Aliaga Lordemann

Javier Aliaga Lordemann has been the director of Fairtrade’s Center of Excellence for Climate and Environment since 2022. He holds doctoral and master’s degrees in economics, with 20 years of experience in climate change, energy, sustainable agriculture, and environment sustainability. He has served as an international consultant in 35 countries for institutions such as the European Union, World Bank, FAO, and others. Since 2019 he has been supporting small-scale farmers in Latin America. Javier is passionate about promoting sustainable and innovative farming practices that are environmentally and economically viable for smallholder farmers. He advocates for change that supports sustainable agriculture practices.
