Johanna Mair

Johanna Mair is professor for organization, strategy, and leadership at the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin. Her research focuses on how novel organizational and institutional arrangements can generate economic and social development. Mair also is a distinguished fellow at the Stanford Center on Philanthropy and Civil Society where she serves as a co-director of the Global Innovation for Impact Lab and as the academic editor of the Stanford Social Innovation Review.

Johannes Kiess

Johannes Kiess

Johannes Kiess is a senior program officer on the development policy and finance team at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Previously, he was an operations officer at the World Bank and team leader for the Open Aid Partnership. As an economist at the World Bank and consultant to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, he advised on multilateral and innovative finance for development. Kiess holds a doctorate in economics from the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland.

Johannes Trimmel

Johannes Trimmel is president of CONCORD The European Confederation of Relief and Development NGOs, representing 2.600 European development NGOs vis-à-vis the European Institutions. During the last 15 years of his engagement in development cooperation he has been focusing on the rights of persons with disabilities and their inclusion, as well as access to eye health and health systems strengthening. Currently he is director of policy and advocacy at the International Agency of Prevention of Blindness.

Johannes Linn is a Ph.D. economist. He worked for 30 years at the World Bank. Since 2003, he has been affiliated with the Brookings Institution, the Emerging Markets Forum, and Results for Development. He engages in research and advisory assignments, including on the topic on scaling up development impact.
John Barnes

John Barnes

John Barnes joined FCAA as executive director in November 2009. John began his career working for the State of Delaware on child welfare issues. He went on to develop and implement a statewide HIV/AIDS case management program for the Division of Public Health. Most recently, he served as deputy executive director of Food & Friends in Washington, D.C. John served on the board of directors of FCAA from 2005-2009. John also serves on the board of trustees of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

Stephen O’Brien is the U.K. parliamentary under-secretary of state for international development. Prior to his appointment at the Department for International Development, O'Brien was a shadow minister for health and social care – one of several leadership posts he has held within the Conservative Party. He has founded and served as chairman of the All Party Group on Malaria and Neglected Tropical Diseases, chaired the Malaria Consortium, and worked with a variety of other institutions engaged in global health.

Before joining the organization, he earned a masters degree in Theology from Regent College in Canada and worked for eight years with African Enterprise, focusing on partnership development and indigenous missions to promote the global responsibility of Christians.
John Beddington

John Beddington

Sir John Beddington is the senior adviser to the Oxford Martin School and professor of Natural Resource Management at Oxford University. From 2008 until 2013, he was the government chief scientific adviser (GCSA) reporting directly to the prime minister. As GCSA, he led on providing scientific advice to the government during the 2009 swine flu outbreak, the 2010 volcanic ash incident, and the emergency at the Fukushima nuclear power plant in 2011. In 2004, he was awarded the Companion of the Order of St. Michael and St. George. In June 2010, he was awarded a knighthood in the Queen’s Birthday Honours.
