He is responsible for leading traceability projects, influencing suppliers to implement traceability, monitoring and verifying deforestation, and collaborating with other stakeholders. He has more than 25 years of experience in remote sensing, geographic information systems, and mapping.

Jutta Urpilainen

As European commissioner for international partnerships, Jutta Urpilainen oversees the European Commission’s work on international cooperation and sustainable development. Before joining the commission, Urpilainen served as a member of the Finnish Parliament. In 2008, she became the first woman leader of the Social Democratic Party of Finland. She then served as Finland’s deputy prime minister and finance minister. During that time, she became closely involved in development issues, joining the Development Committee of the World Bank Group and IMF and chairing the Finnish National Commission on Sustainable Development. She then served as the foreign minister’s special representative on mediation and chaired the Finnish National Commission for UNESCO.

Dr. K. Zaman is a senior scientist and epidemiologist at icddr,b — a leading health and biomedical research center based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He has spent over 33 years conducting community-based epidemiological research and clinical trials among some of the most resource-deprived populations in the "global south." He is currently the principal investigator of multiple vaccine studies in Bangladesh, including vaccines for rotavirus, influenza, hepatitis E, Japanese encephalitis and polio.

Kaarina Immonen

Kaarina Immonen is the U.N. resident coordinator and UNDP representative in Laos. She began her career in the United Nations in 1990. Her most recent appointment before her arrival to Laos was as deputy special representative of the secretary-general for the U.N. Integrated Peacebuilding Office in the Central African Republic, a post she held from December 2012 to early 2014. She also served as U.N. resident coordinator and humanitarian coordinator during her time in the Central African Republic. She has also worked in Moldova, Russian Federation, Georgia, Cambodia and Vietnam.
