Kate McMahon is an expert program manager and policy adviser on food security, resilience and sustainability. Currently she works as a senior policy adviser with Mercy Corps in Washington, D.C. Kate has embrace a wide diversity of roles, from managing a humanitarian food security program in South Sudan’s bush to spearheading successful advocacy campaigns on environmental policy in the halls of the U.S. Congress.

Kate Midden is Devex's Engagement Editor. She oversees media partnerships, online events, social media, and Devex’s global opinions section. In the past, she has served as a press officer with USAID's Office of U.S. Foreign Disaster Assistance, overseen media relations for the Center for Global Development, and managed consumer PR and crisis communications for Kaiser Permanente. She started her career as a radio producer for Chicago NPR affiliate WBEZ.

Kate Oldridge-Turner is the head of policy and public affairs at World Cancer Research Fund International, leading the organization’s policy work in areas related to diet, weight and physical activity, and cancer and noncommunicable disease prevention. Kate has a background in human rights law and social policy, and she has worked in a range of sectors at both the U.K. and international levels.

Kate Phillips-Barrasso leads Mercy Corps’ strategy to influence the policy and practice of global bilateral and multilateral institutions and donors. She sets the organization’s global advocacy. Before joining Mercy Corps, Kate served as the director of humanitarian policy with InterAction and held several roles with the International Rescue Committee.

Kate Swaffer

Kate Swaffer

Kate Swaffer is the chair, CEO, and co-founder of Dementia Alliance International, a global advocacy and support group for people living with dementia. She is a full member of the World Dementia Council, a board member of Alzheimer’s Disease International and their SE Asia regional mentor, and is on a number of national and international steering committees and advisory groups. She is a humanitarian and activist for human rights in dementia and aged care, and she is also living with younger onset dementia diagnosed aged 49. Swaffer is also a current Ph.D. candidate at the University of Wollongong.

Kate Turner

Kate Turner is a disability advocacy adviser for VSO, a U.K.-based international volunteering organization. After eight years in government and public affairs, she is now working to advance the rights of persons with disabilities in Rwanda. Turner was recently selected to be a U.N. Youth Blogger at the United Nations Department of Public Information and NGOs Conference in New York.
