Kelly Henning

Dr. Kelly Henning has led the Bloomberg Philanthropies Public Health program since its inception in 2007. She is a medical doctor and epidemiologist trained in internal medicine, infectious diseases, and public health. Prior to joining Bloomberg Philanthropies, Dr. Henning was an associate professor of infectious diseases and hospital epidemiology at the University of Pennsylvania School Of Medicine. From 2003-2006, she served as director of the newly formed Division of Epidemiology at the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.
Kelly Kilburn

Kelly Kilburn

Kelly Kilburn is a postdoctoral researcher affiliated with the School of Public Health at George Washington University and the Carolina Population Center at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. She holds a Ph.D. in public policy and her work applies interdisciplinary quantitative techniques to analyze the health and economic impacts of development policies in low-income countries. She has significant experience working on evaluations of cash transfer programs for poor and vulnerable populations across sub-Saharan Africa.

For the past 10 months, she has spearheaded a new multimedia storytelling venture, which launched last month at http://stories.usaid.gov. Before joining USAID, she lived in Madrid and worked as a journalist for Spain’s largest newspaper, El Pais.

Kelly grew up in Dallas, Texas and attended Bowdoin College in Maine where she was first introduced to the international development sector. She graduated in 2007 with dual degrees in biochemistry and environmental studies after spending six months in East Africa volunteering with a sustainable development organization. She formally joined the Omprakash team in 2009 to assist with communications and marketing strategy. She now advises on all aspects of the organization, from web design to development strategy.

Kelly Saldaña is vice president of systems strengthening and resilience at Abt Associates, where she leads new solutions to integrated, locally driven program design across the company’s global portfolio. Saldaña joined Abt after nearly 20 years at USAID, where she oversaw the agency’s health systems strengthening and capacity-building portfolio and the programming of its $6 billion COVID-19 response.
