Hollier Jr., M.D., FACS, FAAP, is a board-certified plastic surgeon who specializes in plastic and reconstructive surgery, including cleft lip and palate, pediatric craniofacial, and hand surgery. He serves as chairman of the Global Medical Advisory Board for Smile Train and on the Board of Advisors for the Duke Global Health Institute.

Miami native Larry Luxner, a veteran journalist and photographer, has reported from more than 100 countries in Latin America, Africa, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Asia for a variety of news outlets. He lived for many years in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and Washington, D.C., before relocating to Israel in January 2017.

Larry Nowels

Larry Nowels is a co-chair of the Modernizing Foreign Assistance Network. He currently works as a consultant, recently working with a number of foundations and global development advocacy organizations, including the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition, the ONE Campaign, and Advocates for Development Assistance. Previously, he was a specialist in foreign affairs at the Congressional Research Service. During his 33-year career at CRS, he wrote extensively on U.S. foreign assistance policymaking, including the congressional role in legislating and overseeing American foreign aid programs. Nowels attended the University of Redlands, University of Salamanca, American University School of International Service, and the National War College.

Larry Sthreshley

Larry Sthreshley

Larry Sthreshley serves as the Democratic Republic of Congo country director for IMA World Health and has been a recognized leader in global public health for over 30 years. He has spent most of his life in the DRC, having grown up as the son of Presbyterian missionaries in the Kasaï provinces. His technical expertise centers around health systems strengthening, maternal and child health, nutrition, malaria, water, sanitation and hygiene, sexual and gender-based violence, and livelihood programs.

Lars Fruergaard Jørgensen

Lars Fruergaard Jørgensen joined Novo Nordisk in 1991 as an economist in health care, economy and planning and has, over the years, completed overseas postings in the Netherlands, the U.S., and Japan. In 2004, he was appointed senior vice president for IT and corporate development before being appointed executive vice president and chief information officer in 2013. In 2014 however, he took over the responsibilities for corporate people and organization and business assurance and became chief of staff. Jørgensen was appointed president and chief executive officer in January 2017.

He has led high-level international dialogues and campaigns in more than 20 countries and in institutions such as the EU Parliament, Food and Agriculture Organisation, and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.

Laté Lawson-Lartego is the senior director for food and nutrition security at CARE USA where he oversees a growing portfolio of programs addressing the injustice of food and nutrition insecurity with the end goal of enabling 50 million people to be food and nutrition secured and resilient by 2020. He has spent over 20 years in the private and nonprofit sector, with his majority of his tenure in the development sector leading program design and implementation in the area of food and nutrition security, climate change, gender equality, economic development including value chain development, private sector engagement, inclusive financial services and social enterprise development.

She has extensive experience working with international NGOs as well as corporate foundations to support research, landscape assessment, and strategy development efforts focused on health advancement in low- or middle-income countries.

Prior to working for PYXERA Global, Laura was director of corporate citizenship at the Dow Corning Corporation. Her 30-year career in international business has included roles in HR, business development, finance, marketing, branding, communications, and corporate social responsibility, including the company’s public-private partnership with the Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves (a UN Foundation, U.S. State Department, and Clinton Global Initiative).
