Leonce Dieudonné Sessou is executive secretary at the African Tobacco Control Alliance, which is dedicated to the prevention of a tobacco epidemic in Africa. Leonce oversees the alliance’s interventions by providing guidance to civil society organizations for monitoring, exposing, and denouncing tobacco industry interference. He currently coordinates monitoring and response initiatives in 15 countries to support the implementation of policies compliant with the World Health Organization’s Framework Convention on Tobacco Control.

Leslie Ruyle is an ecologist working across academic disciplines to create innovative solutions to reduce conflict and improve conservation and economic development outcomes for local communities. She is the assistant director of the Scowcroft Institute of International Affairs at the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University, holds a Ph.D. from the University of Georgia, served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ghana, West Africa, and has managed university-based initiatives for the National Science Foundation and USAID.

She holds an master's degree in conflict resolution from Georgetown University and a bachelor's degree in peace and conflict studies from University of California-Berkeley.
