Louis Verchot leads Mitigate+, a CGIAR initiative on low-emissions food systems. He engages in the U.N. climate change convention and national policy processes on forestry and rural development issues. Dr. Verchot is among the scientists recognized for contributing to the Nobel Peace Prize-winning work of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

Louisa Gosling is a program manager for principles at WaterAid U.K. She is responsible for mainstreaming WaterAid’s principles on equity, inclusion and rights into its WASH programs. She has worked in international development for over 20 years, and joined WaterAid in 2008. Her work promotes awareness of access to WASH in realizing the rights of marginalized people. She works with practitioners to develop inclusive and rights-based approaches to overcome discrimination and exclusion.

Louise Ball is communications officer for the research and policy in development program at the Overseas Development Institute. She has expertise in not-for-profit communications, including strategic development, publication management, social media and digital communications.

Louise Fresco is the president of the executive board for Wageningen University & Research, one of the world’s leading research institutes in the field of food, agriculture, and life sciences. She served as assistant director-general of food and agriculture for the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in Rome, conducted fieldwork in over 50 developing countries, served on the supervisory board of Rabobank, served on the board of Unilever, and is a documentary-maker and published author.

Louise Iverson is a research associate at The Chicago Council on Global Affairs, where she shepherds the council’s annual policy report on global food security. Previously, she worked in development programming in Central America. Iverson holds a master of public policy degree from the University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy and a bachelor's degree from the University of Minnesota.

Louise James is a managing director at Accenture where she is a global co-lead for ADP. Louise engages with ADP’s clients to develop new inclusive business models and strengthen the capabilities of the nonprofit sector to help solve global development challenges to progress the SDGs. She is a member of the World Economic Forum’s technology and social justice advisory council. Prior to ADP, Louise consulted within Accenture’s supply chain practice across several industries.

Louise Picken is a senior scientific director at Complete HealthVizion, a global medical communications agency and part of McCann Health. Louise’s career in the pharmaceutical business start over 22 years ago with a scientific role in a small biotechnology firm. From there, she moved into medical communications at McCann Health, where she now provides scientific leadership at Complete HealthVizion across a wide variety of therapeutic areas, life-cycle stages, and competitive settings. She holds a Ph.D. in chemistry with medicinal chemistry from the University of Edinburgh, U.K.

Louise Shaxson is a research fellow in the Overseas Development Institute’s RAPID program. She initially trained as an agricultural economist, but her work now focuses on improving public sector policy and strategy within the broad framework of evidence-based policymaking. Over the past 10 years she has worked with policymakers in line ministries in the U.K. and developing countries, helping them make more effective use of evidence and embedding an evidence-informed approach throughout their organizations.
