Lysa John is the secretary general of CIVICUS and lives in South Africa. She has championed human rights and international mobilization for two decades. She worked as head of outreach for the U.N. high-level panel that drafted the blueprint for the Sustainable Development Goals and as global campaigns director at Save the Children.

Maaike de Langen

Maaike de Langen is the program lead on Justice for All, a program of the Pathfinders for Peaceful, Just and Inclusive Societies project at New York University’s Center on International Cooperation. The program builds on the “Justice for All” report — published by the Pathfinders’ Task Force on Justice — which sets out an agenda for action to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 16’s promise of access to justice for all.
Maartje van Putten

Maartje van Putten

Maartje van Putten was the second European member of the Inspection Panel, after Ernst-Günther Bröder. She is a specialist and was an advisor to many financial institutions creating their own independent accountability mechanisms such as the EIB and the ADB, and a member of several mechanisms. Prior to her work on IAMs, she was a member of the European Parliament for ten years. At present she is the chair of the OECD National Contact Point in the Netherlands, which receives complaints alleging that actions by large multinational corporations do not adhere to the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises.

Macky Sall is the president of Senegal and current chair of the African Union. He was Senegal’s prime minister from 2004 to 2007, and also acted as president of the Senegalese National Assembly from 2007 to 2008.

She is also an assistant professor at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and was previously the founding program manager at Last Mile Health.

Madhav Dhakal is a Ph.D. scholar at Manipal University Jaipur in India. His research focuses on digital agriculture, climate resilience, digital economy, and rural innovation in South Asia. He has contributed to government and academic sectors on technology policy, sustainable development, and the economics of development.

Madhu Deshmukh

Madhu Deshmukh currently serves as the interim vice president of programs and senior director for health equity and rights at CARE USA. She has worked globally in sexual and reproductive health, HIV/AIDS, women’s empowerment, and gender and social development fields over the past 28 years. Madhu has served in leadership positions with diverse stakeholders including the government of India, the U.K. Department for International Development, the United Nations, and local and international NGOs, working to scale impact through strategic and large initiatives in complex contexts.
