Magdy Martínez-Solimán

Magdy Martínez-Solimán

Magdy Martínez-Solimán is assistant secretary-general of the U.N. and assistant administrator of the U.N. Development Program, where he leads the Bureau for Policy and Program Support. He was U.N. resident coordinator in Mexico, executive director of the U.N. Democracy Fund and UNDP’s global governance practice manager. He has been working for the United Nations for 18 years in Senegal, Bangladesh, Burundi and Togo, and has previously held senior responsibilities in the Spanish government. He is a lawyer by training.
Maggie Montgomery

Maggie Montgomery

Maggie Montgomery has a doctorate in environmental engineering. As an environmental engineer, she has experience in research, public health, and fixing pipes. For the past 10 years, she has been part of the water, sanitation, hygiene, and health team at the World Health Organization, working to improve access to water and sanitation, particularly in health care facilities. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, getting dirty with her kids, and writing poetry.
Maha Shuayb

Maha Shuayb

Maha Shuayb is a founding member and the former president of the Lebanese Association for History. She is currently the director of the Centre for Lebanese Studies at the Lebanese American University. She is also a co-founding member of the Disability Hub, a collective initiative that aims to promote research and advocacy around disability in the Arab World. Her research focuses on the sociology and politics of education, particularly equity and equality in education, and the implications of inequalities on marginalized groups such as refugee children and persons with disabilities. Her research interests also focus on educational reform in Lebanon.
Mahamudu Bawumia

Mahamudu Bawumia

Mahamudu Bawumia is vice president of the Republic of Ghana and head of Ghana’s economic management team. He is an economist and banker by training. He has been resident representative for the African Development Bank in Zimbabwe, a visiting scholar at the Center for the Study of African Economies, Oxford University, and served as deputy governor of the Central Bank of Ghana between 2006 and 2009. Bawumia has published several articles in refereed journals and has also published two books on monetary policy and economic development.

Mahesh K V is a member of the board of directors and head of OneSight EssilorLuxottica Foundation, India. He’s also an honorary CSR adviser of the government of Karnataka. As head of the OneSight EssilorLuxottica Foundation, India, Mahesh leads all the philanthropy initiatives and advocacy efforts of the EssilorLuxottica Group in the region. With 17 years of experience across various sectors and organizations, he has collaborated with many national and international development organizations in their social impact departments for implementation of programs in India.

Mahmoud Mohieldin is the World Bank's corporate secretary and president’s special envoy on Millennium Development Goals, the post-2015 process and financial development. He is also in charge of coordinating the World Bank Group’s efforts to strengthen partnerships with the United Nations and multilateral development institutions.

Mahmudul Kabir is the country director of Bangladesh at Terre des Hommes Netherlands. With over 40 years of experience in the development sector, he is a leader by example and a well-known advocate for child rights in Bangladesh with expertise in project management, lobbying, and advocacy.
Maia Olsen

Maia Olsen

Maia Olsen is a program manager for NCD Synergies at Partners In Health, a program focused on building a community focused on addressing the endemic noncommunicable and injury burden among those living in the world's poorest settings. She is currently a co-chair for the Taskforce on Women and NCDs, a long-time volunteer with Global Oncology, Inc., and recently launched the "Chronicles" podcast with four other advocates sharing lived experiences in NCDs.
